This Autumn Winter 2024, Meta Campania Collective is pleased to collaborate with photographer Mario Sorrenti. Through a cast of artists and creatives drawn from the photographer’s personal orbit, Sorrenti reinterprets the brand motto “Lives and Works in...” for the new collection.
As always, Meta Campania takes inspiration from the considered nonchalance of the way an artist dresses, lives and works. Characterized by ease of wear, luxury of hand, and quality of production, Meta Campania allows for effortless transition from the studio to a dinner or event and back again.
The starting point for the collection is attention to color, texture, and fabric. A rich, cognac brown is introduced to the core palette of black, midnight blue, dark chocolate, white, Weimaraner grey, light beige, and camel. Herringbone, shearling, and check create variation in texture and pattern.
Ample silhouettes, created without economizing on fabric, convey confidence and immediate luxury, especially in the standout outerwear pieces. A fitted and unlined elongated overcoat, a hooded cashmere blouson, and a hand-quilted bomber jacket are as soft to the hand as they are on the eye. A lamb-shearling peacoat remains light and supple while protecting from the elements. A hooded, ultra-soft camel-hair wrap-coat can be worn open and free-flowing or else belted and cinched to produce volume.
Materials as well as colors are used across jackets and trousers to allow for a cozy, monotone look. Effortless with the cotton cashmere boiler suit, the look can also be accomplished by pairing the staple workwear jacket with MCC workwear trousers in matching materials. Meanwhile, the versatile, everyday drawstring trouser has been produced this season in wale cotton corduroy, midweight Italian cashmere, Italian nylon, and soft-boiled wool.
Luxury through fabric-choice and just-the-right proportion is also evinced by the knitwear: A chunky cashmere shawl collar—as much jacket as sweater—is lavishly understated; the MCC raglan-sleeve cashmere crewneck returns, now in mohair and merino along with classic cashmere. Felted cashmere offerings expand with a cable-knit crewneck sweater and a black turtleneck dress.
Shirting follows the same fabric-first approach: cotton, wide-wale cotton corduroy, cashmere and cotton-cashmere are selected for quality and hand without compromise. Soft wool check adds contrast and pattern.
Cotton cashmere jersey rounds out the wardrobe: ribbed tank-tops, long-sleeved underlayers, cropped hoodies, and boxy t-shirts are ideal for layering.
Finally, the same luxury nonchalance of the ready-to-wear collection runs through the AW 2024 accessories. Unlined, cross-body and tote bags are constructed in lamb suede, calf and deer leather. A pair of supple yet burly calf-leather boots are down-filled and shearling-lined for warmth and natural comfort. Equally plush accessories in shearling and mohair complete the look.
